(WIP… with Ossomas Studio)

an idea of archiving previous/existing sculptures in an interactive way. each miniature could be assembled and disassembled easily, it’s like an IKEA flatpack, anyone everyone could have a go. hoping to create an open process for people to understand and experience the construction and the joints of each sculpture

an act of visualising the duration of a 'passing'. i wanted to share a story or maybe an experience or an understanding - there're many different kind of meetings in my life so far, the ones in person, the ones not in person and the ones that perhaps only happened in my imagination

through the push and pall, i am once again, as a third person, experiencing the separation and passing, the touching and the untouching between the 'two halves'

i wonder which composition would be a kind of resolved? and or a result of the story

'Relation Series' is the first series of works i have ever produced, and it has been developed since the end of 2022 - i found it challenging to document the individuals together - they almost need a specific platform or maybe not - and they all seem to have its own story could tell too

the idea of this series was beginning with family tree - i thought about the relationships between each family - and then focus on conversations among the individuals.

a beautiful text from On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong - i feel especially this series of works, could somehow echo this text a bit - thanks for sharing the book with me dear Cecilia x

how to start talking about her - i’m not quite sure - i could simply say she’s a form that visualises the idea of volume

but no - she’s like a process of love & hate - there were moments i love about you but also moments that i would rather just give up

the process is also like a mirror - it reflected alot of me myself as a person - how i care & what i long for - so thankyou for giving me this challenge - a challenge to get to know myself more

in the end - i guess no matter what - i’m always yours - till the sun no longer shine - to the lover, my you

was speaking to a friend the other day about this piece, she commended that she sees my sculpture as the measurement of my body, my strength. perhaps it’s true, im measuring the limitation of my physicality

i feel before graduated from my MA last year was an intensive time for making, it's always going to be hard to replicate that volume of work, but i still want to try, try to seal the making process within just me & my sculpture

the work is formed by 2 parallelograms balancing each other. It urges the viewer to engage with the space, to consider the impact of scale and elevation of one's self in relation to the object

for me, form is my way to draw out emotions in a shared space, to hold onto the memories of past and to make them consistently present

when a memory loses its meaning, it is like a statement of never ending or beginning. The Windmills of Your Mind (2021) is a piece that’s close to heart and reflecting a certain period of time

it was the first piece i made in my MA course, and i think it really is an expression of me feeling overwhelmed by joining a new community and taking on different challenges/risk. and is also the 1st ever piece that i include language/text in the work itself - it's a statement i carry on and keep in mind

it is a long story that i don’t even know how to walk through with you. Perhaps the title has gently touched out my 3 years life at Chelsea College of Art. Cool friends i met, people i worked with, person i loved, things happened on me etc. i think i am very much lucky to have all of these. dunno what the future would be like, but i will always, always remember those that these unforgettable memories that we have had been through together

it was a little breakthrough or breakdown - was thinking about movement in the space, trying to against the nature of the architecture - the idea is to cause disruption to what we so called ‘routine’

she’s someone i created to echo the arch that behind her - a studio space i have been working in - time, space and conversation brought me to this idea - a shape that reflecting my experiences of specific place

a journey all the way from Chelsea College of Art to Kennington Park,

my mind is shifting while the chairs are moving towards the destination - it’s a day of realisation - one’s mind falling apart when one of the chair broke in the middle of the journey

ever since then, we start walking towards opposite direction
